Tweezy, Polar Behr, etc. assemble!

Additions: Xherdan Shaqiri, Claudio Pizarro, Mario Mandzukic, Dante, Tom Starke
Departures: Nils Petersen (loan to Bremen), Olic (Wolfsburg), Danijel Pranjic (free agent, looks to be headed to Everton), Breno (crazy house or jail), Jorg Butt (retired).

Other news:

Christian Nerlinger was fired as Sporting Director and has been replaced with Matthias Sammer, who was the director of the German football federation for 6 years.
LINK

Some players were signed to professional contracts from the youth team, all are expected to spend most of their time with the reserves.

Patrick Weihrauch 18 year old German striker.
Mitchell Weiser 18 year old midfielder/wingback from Troisdorf, Germany. More of a winger playing defender but supposed to be a great talent.
Lukas Raeder an 18 year old keeper signed from FC Schalke's setup. Very tall and looks to be a promising understudy.

Emre Can, 18, signed a professional contract last year but is still very young and very promising. He should get some more first team chances with the injury situation with Bastian Schweinsteiger whose ankle hasn't healed properly. He's regarded as a very good midfielder who will be a longterm starter for Bayern. He was on the bench for a few games but Heynckes hates integrating new talent so he stayed on the bench. Should split his time between Bayern and Bayern II.

Bayern begin training tomorrow, can't wait to hear how the new players are looking.

The roster as it stands today:

GK:
1 Manuel Neuer
22 Tom Starke
24 Maximilian Riedmüller
32 Lukas Raeder

DEF:
4 Dante
5 Daniel van Buyten
13 Rafinha
17 Jérôme Boateng
21 Philipp Lahm
26 Diego Contento
28 Holger Badstuber

MID:
7 Franck Ribéry
10 Arjen Robben
11 Xherdan Shaqiri
23 Mitchell Weiser
27 David Alaba (listed as a midfielder on the Bayern website, will probably be back at left back).
30 Luiz Gustavo
31 Bastian Schweinsteiger
36 Emre Can
39 Toni Kroos
44 Anatoliy Tymoshchuk

FWD:
14 Claudio Pizarro
20 Patrick Weihrauch
25 Thomas Müller
33 Mario Gomez

August 11 will be Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup at the Allianz Arena. I don't have the full schedule but it looks like the first half will be like this:

Fürth(A)
Stuttgart(H)
Mainz(H)
Schalke(A)
Wolfsburg(H)
Bremen(A)
Hoffenheim(H)
Düsseldorf(A)
Leverkusen(H)
Hamburg(A)
Frankfurt(H)
Nürnberg(A)
Hannover(H)
Freiburg(A)
Dortmund(H)
Augsburg(A)
Gladbach(H).

So since this is mostly an english board, this is where I show up to talk about my newly adopted Bundesliga club Dortmund right?

Mia San Mia. Harsh exit for Nerlinger, eh? I didn't mind him that much. The club is looking poised for a semi fresh start after last seasons lsu football esque ending

You can talk about them but I can't assure you that anyone will care haha just kidding but I wouldn't mind this also being a semi bundesliga in general thread. I'm planning on diving head first this season. Past few years I've just watched bayern exclusively, but I'm going to try and follow the league as a whole and watch non bayern games this year. Wish me luck

Mostly messing with you all, but I am going to make an effort to watch a lot more of the league this year, and plan on picking up borussia Dortmund as my team based on my ancestors being from that area.

Note: I lay no claim to the past championships, my fandom starts now.. As I know it probably looks bandwagoney to jump on them now..

Not that I'm really an expert or even very well informed about the bundesliga, I feel like there aren't any band wagon teams because of the way the clubs are run. Bayern has the most championships and Dortmund won the last two, but they are very anti man city type of clubs. Only 3 or 4 clubs are in debt and all but I think 2 are majority fan owned, the other two are owned by I think VW and maybe another car company. The league allows them to have a majority owner because they have always been run like than. Seems like a fun league, great fan attendance, decent parity.

Don't apologize for your choice. Borussia Dortmund will be great again this year. I hope it'll be another fun race to the finish line.

Also they're the only current bundesliga team with any coaches or players in their history bearing the german spelling of my name

What networks do I need to have in order to see more of these games? Or is it mostly streaming for the bundesliga.

Goltv and espn deportes will feature about 80% of bayern/dortmunds games. All else can be found on firstrowsports

Eta espn3 has a decent amount of shite too that they opt not to show on deportes

Like tweezy said, you'll need GolTv which is part of the latino package on cox I think. I think you get GolTV and ESPN Deportes for like $5/month.

For the rest, you can use espn3.com or illegal streaming.

According to Bild, Bayern don't wanna pay more than 25 mil for Javi Martinez. Yann M'Vila has been referenced as a backup plan.

I'd rather a player like Cabaye.

I'm not German at all but I've started to follow Bayern and the national team a little bit because I love watching them play. I only really got to see Bayern play UCL games, may have caught one Bundesliga game.

What's the best way to watch Bundesliga games in English since they aren't on FSC? Also, do y'all know of any upcoming plans or deals for broadcasting the league in the future?

Bayern got my hopes up and then crushed them violently as I watched helplessly. Cannot bring myself to support them.
