I have 3 gen4 glocks and I actually like the grip texture on them more then the 3rd gen. 3rd still has the finger grooves as well but the grip texture is a little different... Less aggressive. The first and second gen glocks don't have the grooves. The first gen glocks were 17's and I think very few 19's.

. Do the 19 and 23 have the same dimensions/weight
Yes. The only difference is the barrel.

2. What would be the purpose of practicing with 9mm if you were gonna switch over to 40 in real life situations? The two different calibers will shoot differently, doesn't make any sense not to "practice how you play"
True. I'm not saying don't practice with the .40, just let's you shoot more for cheaper if you use 9mm. I'm a .40 guy so it's just a suggestion. I like the idea of having 2 different calipers in one gun that are switchable as fast as you can field strip. And I don't think the .40s recoil is a significant enough difference to warrant required practice with a .40.

3. Is there anybody/thing that you can put down with 13 rounds of 40 that you can't put down with 15 rounds of 9mm especially with the higher rated loads.
I know, it's just a personal preference.
