Anyone heard of this? It's internet based tv and dvr, no coaxial cables needed, and you can watch on your current TVs.

Apparently, it's only available in NYC right now (which is where I am and thinking of trying), but do yall think this is something that will catch on? Or is it likely to be phased out by the cable companies putting caps on internet bandwidth?

With the way their antennae work, I'm not even sure this would use up your bandwidth. Their site doesn't offer much info.

It does use up your own Internet bandwidth. The antenna they give you is not for broadcasting the signal to you, it's for them to record TV on your behalf.

Using Aereo's technology, you can watch and record over 20 TV channels that are available in New York City, including all the major networks and a number of local stations that broadcast live 24 hours a day.

Them assigning you an antenna is what allows them to offer this rebroadcasting to you legally. That's why it's limited to NY Over The Air channels. They'd have to buy a cable subscription in your name to give you similar access to cable channels.
