Has anyone seen this documentary about George H. W. Bush? It has been running on HBO lately, and I got around to watching it last night. It provides a great look into his political career and really focuses on his life on his compound in Kennebunkport. It shows him as a graceful, wise leader. It doesn't have a political agenda, it basically is him sitting in a chair telling his life story. I really enjoyed it, and its neat to see and hear the behind the scenes information from a President's perspective. His line about running the RNC while Nixon was president is pretty funny.

I was flipping through the channels and watched about 30 minutes of it and got hooked, but I had to leave. I plan on watching the rest at some point in the near future.

Good stuff.

I like how he quickly shot down the interviewer when he asked him to elaborate on his time with the CIA.

I agree it was very evenly keeled politically.

Well done and his place in Maine is incredible.

I was at the Texans game where him and Junior did the coin toss.

Fun fact for you conspiracy theorists....
- GHWB's honeymoon with Barbara was to Sea Island, Ga. Which is just down the street from Jekyll Island, Ga. Jekyll Island is where the Federal Reserve was founded. Which is said to have deep connections to the Skull and Bones society at Yale. GHWB is a member of the Skull and Bones.

I watched the last half of it, and very much enjoyed it. He's pretty frank with both his successes and failures.

Got to shake 41's hand at the Superbowl last time it was in NOLA when he and Staubach did the coin toss.

Yeah i finished it last night. Really good. I did get the impression that he is not a big fan of Ross Perot.

Yeah his reaction to being asked abot Perot was pretty blunt. I think that is what stands out to me about the whole doc, that 41 is open and honest about his ups and downs. He doesn't sugar coat anything, and he is 88 years old so he isn't trying to prove anything to anyone.

I thought it was funny how he hauls arse around up and down the coast in his boat (3 outboards!) and the Secret Service are always in the background on their boat.
