What would the NBA look like

if players quit trying to draw charges and just played defense?

They only get the charge about 1 in 10 tries. So, 9 out of 10 tries they just look foolish and put a guy on the free throw line.

a lot less flopping for one. practically impossible to get a charge call if you dont fall down.

You'd get nothing but charging to the basket. Full on charges from the free throw line with two steps to the basket, plenty of fouls. There would be NO defense.

That's what you get now.

Also, trying to slide under a guy with both hands on your crotch is not playing defense.
