The Jesters scored a very big 6-1 victory last night over the Texas Dutch Lions. The win pulls the Jesters within 3 points of 2nd place in the division. The current division standings are:

Pts GP W L D
Laredo Heat 19 8 6 1 1
Austin Aztex 14 10 4 4 2
El Paso Patriots 14 10 4 4 2
New Orleans Jesters 11 10 2 3 5
West Texas Sockers 11 9 2 2 5
Texas Dutch Lions 10 11 3 7 1

Remaining Schedule:

06/22/2012 07:00 PM Chivas El Paso Patriots
06/24/2012 07:00 PM Laredo Heat
06/30/2012 07:00 PM Austin Aztex
07/04/2012 08:15 PM @Laredo Heat
07/06/2012 08:15 PM @Laredo Heat
07/14/2012 07:00 PM Austin Aztex

A top-2 finish in the division would earn the Jesters a spot in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup next season. Hopefully this could spark some interest in our local team! Geaux Jesters!

They misspelled Aztecs.

In any event, I hope to make a match sometime soon. I look forward to seeing the locals tear it up.

Same here. I haven't been to a match yet, as living in BR it's kinda hard to make it over there. I'm thinking of trying to make it to one of these last few games though.

I feel like the Jesters get kind of a bad rap because they are constantly billed as a "minor-league" or "4th-division" club. Although they are technically in the fourth "tier" of American soccer, it can still be entertaining soccer to watch. The PDL isn't really a "minor league". The PDL (Premier Development League) is actually a U-23 league. It is in fact the top U-23 league in the country. Hence, PREMIER development league. It's not that its poor quality of players, it's just mostly young players, the top college players in the country. I feel it'd be worth the cheap ticket price to go check them out.

I've been to a Jesters game. It was a good experience all around, I would say.

Should have won 2 or 3 more games as well. They've been unfortunate. Could easily be sitting atop the standings. Or close to it at least.
