"Pump Fake Jump Shot Flopathon" Whereby The shooter actually throws himself into the defender.

Other PG's around the league have picked up the move. I believe it was actually started by the Spurs but I could be mistaken. Anyway, it's easy points and the refs allow it.

Jarret Jack has mastered this technique, he even used the move to beat Dallas 2 years ago, but I thought the league was cracking down on that this season.

They definitely were, and it made CP3 looks foolish on a couple of occasions. I'd honestly go back to Kobe as the originator, but I'm sure others were doing it before that. It just seems like Kobe was there when the refs started biting on it.

They cracked down a little bit on it. They are still calling it if there is significant contact though. Meaning even if the player launches himself into the defender, if significant contact is made, it will be a foul almost every time. They cut down from what I can tell on ticky tack contact being called a foul in the same play. Wade and pierce both did the move in game 2 last series and it was obvious that they were trying to draw fouls and they barely were hit and acted like they got shot. No call on either.

it's SUPPOSED to be a foul only if the offensive player jumps straight up now, but they miss it sometimes

and jordan did this way back in the day. kobe, being jordan jr., copied him. kobe's bein doing this for 10+ years now

Kobe is a lot more blatant at doing it than Jordan was from what I can remember. Jordan was great on the pump fake and was able to catch the defender in the air. I don't remember him launching himself into the defender as egregiously as Kobe, pierce or wade do on a regular basis.

Totally agree. It really gets annoying and when watching a game, I can almost anticipate every time it is about to happen. I'm glad the nba has tried to crack down on it some. But they need to do a better job at no calling that bull crap.

CP3 deserves inclusion in that group, as well.

Agreed. I was just naming a few. But Paul is known for this also.

awesome moment for the Hornets.

But the thing about JJ doing it, I think he's a little more "admirable" as he seems to go straight up more so than the others. And he doesn't flail his arms and just throw the ball at the rim just to get the fouls. He actually takes a somewhat decent shot.

I also think they should eliminate the crap that CP3 pulls with jumping in front of a big heading up court and stopping.

In my opinion, that should be an offensive foul. It's like a moving screen.
