Going to Maui July 14-21 and looking for good suggestions on where to eat. Went about 4 years ago, but cannot remember any names of places or anything that really stood out. Went to this Spanish/Caribbean place on the way to Road to Hana which was legit (excellent fish tacos), but other than that the food scene was meh. Thanks in advance.

Sansei seafood and sushi - go for the Asian truffle infused ramen noodle bowl. Best bowl of noodle/broth bowl I've ever had. We actually went to this place twice just for this dish. Go early and there's some sort of discount. The place gets packed though so wait times may be long although we went early and didn't experience this.

We were in line for the Sansei discount about 45 minutes before they opened and we were far from the first ones there. It was like a mini tailgate. People had chairs and coolers of beer. It was worth it though.

If in Kihei/Wailea, 808 Deli, 808 Bistro, Cuatro, and Nick's are all good. My favorite though is the grilled fish at Makena Grill which is a roadside stand close to Big Beach.

The fish taco place is in Paia, at the corner of Baldwin and Hana Hwy. It's a blueish-gray building and the fish tacos are awesome. We did Sansei as well and the 50% discount on Sunday and Monday was awesome - but get there early because we arrived at 4:30 and there were already about 20 people in front of us. The one is Kapalua actually seemed less crowded, so you may want to check it out. We also went to Spago and the red curry was outstanding - almost good enough to go back the next night. Longhi's had a good breakfast in Wailea. There is a pie shop on the highway going along the coast towards Kapalua called Leonda's Pie shop. It's a cool little place right at the span of road where the trees cover it like a tunnel and has great sandwiches and pies. Lastly, in Kapalua there is a place called Merriman's that is right at the point where you can catch a great sunset with some tasty cocktails. And there's always Mama's. Have fun!

Paia Fish Market
This was honestly my favorite meal while in Maui. Actually, we ate there twice...
