What's the story on LSU's rings for football??

I thought they were SEC Championship Rings, but had several Bama and Ole Miss (amazing they make fun of anyone) fans making fun of LSU for getting rings saying "2nd Nationally". I don't know the story on this, but assuming this is not true and they didn't get special rings for finishing second nationally.

That sounds reasonable. I was pretty sure they didn't get special rings for finishing second....like the bama fans made it out to be.

IDK if they get rings for the SEC champions or not. I think the losers of the BCSNCG get a watch and a pat on the arse for participating. Not sure though.

I've let them know this..trust me....however, sorry if this is germans.....I had heard a little about it, but didn't know the entire story...and wanted to make sure for my debates with these guys. Not real excited about 2nd place ring, but being they are SEC Championship Rings....with the seasons accomplishments....not so bad.

After losing to UF in the BCS CG, Tressel changed the codes on the locker rooms to 4114 (The score) to remind the players. I hope the #2 Nationally bit falls in that category.

I will say I'm surprised at this....don't know what to make of it...didn't think the LSU frame of mind was on finishing second. Use it to motivate? absolutely......having a ring stating it as an accomplishment.....while it was a great year...have mixed feelings on that one. I also think it was a mistake, and can see where fans of other teams might make fun of it.

This was a horrible idea.
Yes, the team should receive rings for the SEC championship. But to put "#2 nationally" makes no sense whatsoever.
