Illegal immigrants will avoid deportation and be eligible for work permits if they arrived in the U.S. before age 16, are younger than 30, have been in the country for at least five continuous years, have no criminal history, graduated from a U.S. high school or earned a GED, or served in the military.
Just a blatant attempt to buy votes from Hispanics.

Agreed that it's an attempt to buy votes, but I have to say if this does happen at least they'll be paying taxes unlike half of already legal Americans.

If they are illegal immigrants how do they get the right to vote? Do you not have to be a citizen?

I see the process going something like this.
Illegals show up to vote in appreciation to Obama giving their kids the work permits.
The kids of age who are illegal show up to vote to pay back Obama for doing this.
The news of this in the legal Hispanic community gets them to show up on election day for Obama.

If they came here illegally, how in the hell do you know if they have been here 5 years and what age they got here. If we have records on them that good they should have been deported 5 years ago.

I'm glad we live in a nation with a Constitution that says the President can't rule by fiat. Thanks Obama you stuttering clusterfrack of a miserable tyrant.
ETA: It's also a good thing that Congress hasn't voted down this exact proposal before. Wait, you mean they did? They voted down the DREAM Act in 2007, 2008, and 2010. Well screw Congress, who said they get to decide the laws of this nation anyway?
