Am I the only one who likes the #2 Nationally thing on it?

I don't think they're celebrating it. I think they're acknowledging the fact that they were the #2 team since they lost to an SEC team.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a frick about the SEC title since we lost to Bama? We're not the SEC champs - in the end, they were.

The #2 Nationally is motivation for this year, mainly.

Where to start with this one?

They had a few posters in here agreeing that it's not a big deal. Could have read a few posts before asking this question.

You are probably not the only one, but your lack of enthusiasm about winning the championship of the toughest football conference in the nation is a little strange. It's something to be proud of.

...and just think: if the champions were crowned before the bowl games like when Bama won most of it's championships, we would have been the National Champions in every poll.

If I was an outgoing senior, I wouldn't want #2 nationally to be on my last ring I receive from LSU.

I didn't literally mean I was the ONLY one. There are far more negative reviews than positive, including a CBS sports article about it, so that's the reason behind my rhetorical question.

I agree winning the SEC is a big deal - any other year. This one, to me, has an asterisk next to it. By losing and splitting with Bama - and losing the game that mattered more - we're only the champs on paper as someone else said. If I'm a Bama fan I'm calling my team the de facto SEC champ, because they basically stole that from us when they embarrassed us in the National Championship.

If the roles were reversed, I'd tell Bama to keep their pointless SEC championship if we beat them in the title game. I'm being uncharacteristically harsh, but it's the truth.

Aren't championship rings a sentimental view in retrospect of what "was?"

#2 nationally has no business on an SEC championship ring. Period.

9-0 SEC Champs is all that should be on it.

Who wants to remember finishing 2nd?

What? You can't be serious with this.

We were beaten in the BCS game. That's it.

Your statement is beyond ridiculous.

In this thread, yep, you are.

Gee, what an overrated thing it is to win your conference. Why even bother, right?

Maybe just lose a game and piss and moan some and have a championship game handed to you. Would you prefer that?

We have some really moron fans. Makes me

Winning the SEC is massive.

Why on earth they would put anything other than , " SEC Champs" - "undefeated" is beyond reason. Why add stuff to a SEC Champ ring that happened after the SEC Champ game?

Who designed these things?

Gumps having a field day :(

If it was possible every ring should be returned to a jeweler or factory and have that removed. It had nothing to do with the undeafeated reg. season and seccg winners. While LSU was winning bama was sitting on its collective butts waiting for a mulligan game that GAVE THEM THE NC. The nc game had nothing to do with who was the sec champ ,and never should have been a rematch against a team they had already beat.Do the bama rings say sec west division runner up? Or sec 3rd? (behind LSU AND Ga). What a slap in the face to a great team.Put an * on the bama rings.9-6 in the game of the century, that should have taken care of a team that didnt even win thier division. But the spoiled bama P.O.S. got another shot at LSU with ALL the mental advantage to bama who had nothing to lose .Oh yea that was 9-6 AT BAMA, that should have taken them out of the bcscg. It would have been better to lose the dam "game of the century", so it ended up meaning absolutly nothing.

I'd like to address three sets of idiots, if I may:

To the dumb fricks in the LSU fan base who have a problem with this:

YOU didn't earn it. YOU don't have the right to tell the team what they can and can't put on the rings. YOU don't have the right to bitch about it. YOU'RE also too fricking stupid to see that this is being used as motivation for next year. Despite what your dumbass may think, Miles and Co. do everything for a reason. No one in the football ops center gives a flying frick what a buch of dipshits like you think.

To those stupid fricks who claim Bama is the real SEC Champ:

Bama earned the SEC title in the same manner you have earned the right to bitch about the rings. They didn't. They sat on their asses while LSU EARNED the SEC title by first beating Bama at home, beating all other SEC opponents, then beating a top 10 Georgia team in their backyard. While Bama was begging, LSU was taking care of business. Which brings me to these idiots:

To the dumb fricks in the Bama fan base who spout this bullshite:

"LSU was best in the SEC
Bama was best in the Nation
The Nation encompasses the SEC so..."

This statement defies all logic and futher proves how 2011 was a joke to the entire college football world. You weren't even good enough to win your own division, much less your own conference, yet going 1-1 against a conference rival made you the "champs".

There, happy weekend dumbasses.

Again, see my statement about motivation. As I stated earlier, after having worked in the football ops center for a few years, no one on LSU's team gives a shite what a dumbass like you thinks. I promise you that! It is THEIR ring, not yours. I can promise you many players will wear and cherish that "garbage" for years to come.

You will NEVER own one anyway. You will NEVER EARN one. Why do you care?

Answer: You shouldn't, simply because those who earned it and do care really don't give a shite about you or your sorry arse opinion.

Have nice day!

Dude stfu.
I wonder if the 2001 SECC team has # 16 nationally engraved on the side of their rings?

Point is, its a symobol of accomplishment and achievment for winning your conference.
Your national ranking has shite to do with it, and IMO its stupid to put it on the side of the ring... as it seems to be by reading this thread a common opinion among other fans.
