Odd results and circumstances

It is an odd set of circumstances indeed. Just like in football LSU can claim to being the SEC champions in baseball but another SEC school may very well be the national champion of that sport.
I suspect that doesn't happen very often and it might happen to us twice in a calendar year.

FWIW, non-conference champions are elligible to win the championship in NCAA basketball, football, baseball, etc. As well as MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, etc.
Not saying I agree but thats how it is.

It is strange that it may play out that way. Football is the one sport where it rarely happens, 2011 being the exception.

I agree it is strange to win two conference championships onlt to have another conference team deemed the best in the country.
Baseball doesn't upset me because I don't think LSU was any where near being the best in the nation.
Football is a little more painful. We may very well have been better than Bama but our QB play was so awful it couldn't be overcome. Plus we had Les and they had Nick.
What is most painful about baseball is that that douche Van Horn has his team in Omaha.
