Finally got around to watching American Psycho the other night. First of it was much worse than I thought it would be. I'm confused on the ending. Did Bale's character have split personalities and create Paul Allen in his mind? Did his father pay everyone off including Bale's lawyer to sweep it all under the rug and act as if it never happened?

He didn't kill those people. It was all in his head. In the Director's cut his call to the lawyer is longer. He also reveals that it was a flashlight in the breifcase; Dottie is a count and she dropped it on purpose; the top fell; and that dude in the Member's Only jacket clipped Tony at the diner.

Jacob is dying the entire time and lingering between Heaven and Hell. It's all a "dream". It's his experience in Purgatory.

He actually died in Vietnam.

Read "An Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge".
