Players can't hit isn't the reason for hitting coach.

Awesome. So does he think recruiting is overrated too or 3rd base coach? Because Javi still sucks at both those too. Because he sure as hell isn't helping recruit great hitters right now.

I can roll with that. Maybe. Still doesn't explain why Javi sucks as a recruiter who can't get good hitters or sucks at 3rd?

Well this sucks. Why have a hitting coach then. Close the position up and pay the pitching coach more.

Wish LSU would just force PM's hand. If he doesn't like it, pack his bags with his babysitter. He has to get tired of having to answer these questions every season. He went out and paid $$$ for a great pitching coach with a bio and it paid off...in just his first season.

And his comment is pure bullshite. He's not going to sit here and try to say a good hitting coach has no influence on hitting. I believe most of the hitting is either you can or you can't, like he said. But a good hitting coach can improve things like directing more of that raw power into your swing...

bullshite damage control for his BBQ buddy/babysitter.

He'll be looking for a job in a year or two if he DO NOT fire Javi, BOOK IT! Sounds like he's going down with his boy. Why does he love him so damn much?

Well will he take the responsibility for the players not making adjustments during the course of a series? For crying out loud, it wasn't that hard to figure out sb's pitchers pitched to the outer 3rd of the plate and we continued to try and pull the damn ball. If it's the players fault then it's his damn fault because he is the one who recruited them.

It's not even about having a great hitting team at this point. It's about plate discipline and putting together good at bats. How many innings were we playing from behind, only to hand the opposing pitcher an 8 pitch inning. If you can't hit the pitcher, at least run his pitch count up a little bit. Holy shite.

What a fricking jack arse. I'm now going to resume the cause I took up after we lost our third straight series to Auburn, actively campaigning for a new baseball head coach.

Candidates include:
Dan McDonald
Rob Childress
Jim Schlossnagle
Scott Stricklin
