When did Home Depot start hiring people who know nothing about their job?

so i went into home depot because i have to patch a small hole in the wall at my apartment before i move out. now i will be the first to admit, i know nothing about home repairs, and im not a handy man, so i went in there with a picture of what i was trying to fix.... asked 3 people what i needed... they said "uhhh i dont know bra, leme ask this dude when he gets off break"

eventually i looked it up online and got what i needed, with zero help from the staff.

why the hell would home depot hire someone who doesnt know anything about the field they are working in?
i know jack shite about home repair and i know for a fact i was more qualified to work at home depot then those jackasses.

yea im mad

That's what happens when you pay for cheap labor. Just think fast food. Most of the people that work there aren't even qualified to do that.

I think that goes for any big box store. Find a local hardware store for good knowledgeable employees.

Since you don't know how to wipe your arse without asking this board, you should have just asked them how to patch a wall

Home Depot should sell ice. They have cases of water by the door on your way out, but you have to make another stopfor ice. I bought 3 cases this morning for my work crew while I purchased other items, and was bothered by not having ice.

I've gone to Home Depot/Lowe's several times and found the staff to be pretty knowledgeable and helpful.

I didn't know it was normal to go into Home Depot and ask them how to carry out a project in your house. I just figured the employees at home depot could help you find stuff at home depot. Didn't know they were usually home repair consultants.
