Play PS3 or Xbox on computer monitor?

Going to pick one of these up tonight to keep me out of trouble while working on the road. Just wondering if I have to buy a TV too or can I use my computer monitor? Monitor has an HDMI plug in and a VGA plug as well, but no speakers on it. Do either of these machines have someway I can plug my computer speakers in them?

YES. HDMI to HDMI works great for me, on both 360/PS3.

I'm not positive on how to hook up speakers. I just use my USB headset. I actually prefer to play on my monitor than my Bravia LED. I think the picture looks better.

Invest in a surround soud headset, I recommend astro but they are pricey. Triton 720 is a decent headset for the money
