I Just finished the Wire - SPOILERS

First off...
WOW. By far the greatest dramatic television series I have watched. I am so depressed that it is over. The closing montage almost brought me to tears.
Now to business...
I believe it was season 2 or 3, when Brother Mouzone is searching for Omar, while his assistant is in the gay bar the camera pans over and we see Rawls sitting at the bar.
Was Rawls gay? Why wasn't this storyline ever addressed? Did I miss something?

It wasn't really important to the story
The only 2 hints we got were that scene, and the "Rawls sucks cock" in the bathroom stall

Yeah, I raised the same question after my first viewing. I kept waiting for it to come around in future seasons, but it never did. Apparently it was just a little Easter egg or something.
