It's not 2008 anymore.

quote:

Loud and rowdy supporters of Mitt Romney in Boston drowned out an attempt by President Obama campaign’s top strategist to attack the former Republican governor on his home turf.

In a morning news conference on the steps of the Massachusetts Statehouse,David Axelrod, one of Mr. Obama’s senior strategists, tried mostly in vain on Thursday to level Mr. Obama’s latest broadside on Mr. Romney’s record as governor of the state.

Instead, he was booed, heckled and chanted down by supporters of Mr. Romney who refused to let up even for a moment as Mr. Axelrod and Democratic state lawmakers sought to make their case.

With cameras rolling, the Republican hecklers yelled “We Want Mitt!” and “Broken Record!” and held signs that said “Go Back to Chicago!” Mr. Axelrod appeared bemused but rattled by them, at one point saying: “You can shout down speakers my friends, but it’s hard to Etch A Sketch away the truth.”

Meanwhile, in California:

quote:

Mitt Romney arrived at the shuttered headquarters ofSolyndra Inc. this morning, a surprise visit that was shrouded in secrecy and part of the presumptive GOP presidential candidate’s attack on President Obama’s record on jobs creation.

“The reason for keeping it quiet is because we knew if word got out that Solyndra would do everything in their power and the Obama administration would do everything in their power to stop us from having this news conference,” an aide said in a briefing en route. “But taxpayers made a substantial investment in Solyndra, there are serious questions about what happened at Solyndra, why that investment was selected, what happened to that money.”

Solyndra is the failed California-based solar technology company that received more than $500 million in federal stimulus money before it went bankrupt last year. It has since become a mantle of Romney’s argument that Obama doesn’t know how to run the economy.

Mitt Romney: Out-organizing the community organizers. Not playing the disavowal game.

This ain't John McCain.

There was a news blurb this AM about the electric car company if Finland that got an assload(200M) of taxpayer cash to make its toy for Hollywood types WON'T be building the promised manufacturing plant in Delaware, and really can't afford to stay in Finland much longer. So they are searching out cheaper labor markets. Guess what genius ex-VP has ties to them?

I hope not. Worst run campaign I've ever seen.

Say what you want about Romney, but his organization is top notch.

I've been saying for weeks that this guy runs a tighter campaign than what he gets credit for.

His 'lay low and keep the talk focused on the economy' strategy has made the left and their media look like fools the last few months and they repeatedly shoot themselves in the foot with manufactured issues and obvious hypocrisy.

And finally, republicans figure out how to use social media......He's the opposite of McCain from a campaign perspective.

You've seen the desperation of the left on this board and in the media. Demonstrations like this were taken directly out of the Obama playbook in 2008.

Correct again. This is the guy McCain beat for the nomination in 2008.

That was McCain's nomination to lose. (Actually it was Giuliani's until he decided on the worst campaign strategy in recent history) The GOP have a bad habit of nominating the guy who's waited his turn (McCain, Dole, etc.)

He's a better campaigner that's for sure. McCain wasn't even trying to run. It's like he was just happy to have his turn as the nominee.

Nobody doubts that Romney actually wants to be president, he's been after it for so long.

I seriously expected to endorse Obama at several points.

Which isn't any more significant in 2012 than Obama winning the Dem nomination over Hillary in 2008.

Hell, he would've endorsed Kerry in 2004 but he knew it would kill his chances in 2008.

The way McCain sat back and allowed Obama to dictate every single part of the campaign was just sad.

A Romney adviser told reporters the campaign had concealed the event location for fear the Obama administration would somehow prevent them from staging it.

"We knew, if word got out, that Solyndra would do everything in their power, and the Obama administration would do everything in their power, to stop us from having this news conference," the adviser said.

Asked how the Obama administration could prevent an event staged on public property, the adviser said there might be a way.

"Well, he's only the president of the United States," the adviser said. "I mean, they could work with town officials to deny us access."

So they time this super double secret presser to coincide with network coverage of W's portrait unveiling at the White House. Now they are competing with coverage of teh Edwards verdict. Talk about getting snowed in.

Maybe they should try this Solyndra presser again tomorrow

Half a BILLION dollars is a "molehill" to you? Do you realize that was the Tax Payers money??? The crooks at Solyndra can't even tell us where the money went. We got fricking raped and you call it a molehill. Ignorance is bliss.

You think the Solyndra fiasco and the numerous others like it were mere "molehills?"

You're beyond repair my friend. You've been bought and paid for. It will be hard to turn the hack off now.

Let's face it, PC's like this aren't going to matter until later in the summer or even until after Labor Day. Nobody is really paying attention. My point was that he does have a well run campaign and he won't let Obama take up all of the oxygen like McCain did in 2008.
