How long does it usually take to get prequalified for a home loan?

I applied for a prequalification online over a week ago with Bank of America and haven't heard anything back. Should I just keep waiting for them to contact me or should I call them to see what's up?

It can never hurt to call them up. In fact that is probably what needs to be done, just to get their butt in gear.

Unfortunately, you will probably be very dissapointed with how slow and inefficient these financial institutions can be. Keep pushing, and be a pain in their backside until they do what you need them to do.

I have not heard good things about BOA. The fact that they haven't called you back should tell you something.

I called my mortgage broker at 9 A.M. on a Monday and got an email with my pre-qual letter and credit disclosure about 7 hours later.

Bank of America

I have no idea why you would deal with them. I refuse to do so.
