If the tourney is going to have 10 teams, I would recommend a 2 pool round robin format. Each team plays the other four teams in their pool. The winners of each pool then would play each other for the tourney championship.

The current format is ridiculous. Yes, LSU got a first day bye, but Kentucky actually ends up in the driver's set on their side of the bracket by winning against a low seed on day one and getting a bye on day two.

I agree - I think this format benefits the 3 and 4 seed more than anyone. They can actually get 2 byes each after Day 1 of the tourney. It's stupid.

Yep. Also the losers bracket is fairly easy to get out of.

If we win today and win tomorrow and Moo State wins, we will only have to beat them once on Satruday even though they had 0 losses and our loss came to them

I like this idea.
I'd like it SO MUCH more if every match up vs in-pod opponents were a 3 game series, not just a single game.
And then wrap it up with each pod champion playing a 5 game series when its over.

Please SEC make it happen.
