BREC Golf Tournaments

I've never played in any of the amateur tournaments that BREC puts on but I'm contemplating the Baton Rouge Open in a few weeks. Can anybody sign up for this or is there a qualifier? TIA

It's open to the public. The only BREC events that require you to qualify are the BR Amateur and the BREC Players Championship. You'll just want to make sure that you sign up for your tournament 3-4 weeks in advance - they fill up quickly.
You can play in them and be at nearly any level of golf, but the bulk of the players shoot in the 70's with about 8-10 usually in the 60's.

Ah, my mistake. I didn't realize that Open literally meant it was open to pros and amateurs, I just figured it was the name of the tourney...

yep, normaly one month ahead of the event, but Santa Maria isn't starting sign-ups for the Open until June 1st.
