Not sure if German or not. Just read this on SEC Recruiting board. Pretty interesting.

A poster on BOL summarizing what he said on the radio this morning:

quote:

About the recruiting process: "Starts off small, and it kept growing on me." "It can get overwhelming, sometimes." Talking about the athlete he is: "Most of my body is God given, I thank God every morning I wake up." About where he is in the process: "I didn't want to make a choice and not be sure about it." "I'm just going to wait til I'm really sure." He says it is between Alabama, LSU, and Clemson. Says those will be his last three visits. About what he is looking for: "Starts with the coaches, then I look at the depth chart." The most fun head coach to sit and talk with: "Nick Saban is all business. Dabo is more of an upbeat guy. Richt is a God fearing man, he's a good dude. Hugh Freeze is goofy too. Les Miles could be laughing one second, but he is still about his business." On other recruits trying to influence his decision: Basically saying he is constantly badgered by recruits trying to recruit him. Singled out UGA recruits. About the factors that are most important to him: "First off, I want to win a National Championship." "I want to have a really good relationship with the coach." "I want to be on the same page with all of the players." "I want to see where I am on the depth chart."

I still don't get it. Alabama and LSU. Sure, but Clemson?? Why Clemson is in play for all these top recruits just blows my mind!

Somehow they've been managing to pull top recruiting classes as of late. Still, nothing to show for it. But you never know, the recruit may like the campus, the city, the players, etc. more than other schools. These can also be factors other than playing for the best of the best.

I guess they like Dabo. That is where it starts for the most part.

Bama is loaded on D and we lose an abundance of D-lineman after the season. He could come in and start here day 1. If the depth chart really is that important to him, then I must say I really like our chances with this guy. Also, Miles is much more a family oriented person than Saban is.

This could play huge IMO. More so when you have players like Mingo and Big Sam that will be highly drafted and we will have wholes to fill. If we have a great season and win it all, Build it and they will come

starts with the coaches

Saban "all business"
Miles "fun and all business"

then I look at the depth chart

we all know LSU has advantage here.

We were in 2012 National Championship game.
We will win 2013 NCG.

Maybe, I'm just getting my hopes up lol.

LSU has a real shot. It has to burn the dawg fans up that they aren't top 3.

I like our chances because he's more of a 4-3 DE in my opinion and we're just a much better 4-3 defense then Clemson, Bama runs the 3-4 and I don't see him as a Jack LB.

That and we are constantly sending DL to the NFL. Who knows what'll happen.

Clemson's been pulling in good recruits for two years now. They had a good ways to turn that program around, talent wise.

In college football, it's almost all, if not all, about having better players. Clemson and FSU are recruiting their tails off and I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them make some real noise in a few years.

Clemson kind of reminds me of LSU in the early 2000's. Building recruiting momentum wise anyway. The main difference is that USCe is also recruiting well where LSU didn't really have that in state competition. And LSU had Florida and Tenn to deal with where as Clemson's main competition in the ACC is VT I guess.

Ive allways had a good feeling about Robert. I think the depth chart is enticing to him.. Also, Greg Gilmore wants to play with Nkemdiche and Gilmore will be a tiger very, very soon

Very good point you make as well as the others. If we lose Sam and Mingo then he could start if not get lots of playing time early.

Again, it all hinges on Saban........and the job opening in his office.
