Nice. I have some Mizuno combo mp30/mp37's and love them. I'm probably not good enough for them though. Those 53's are what I need.

I turned a corner in my golf game when I started playing daily for a few months with MP-33's.

Really made me an excellent ball striker.

I almost got the JPX-800 Pro, but realized it was a little too forgiving. I've never not played a smaller forged iron.

These 53s are the perfect club for a mid handicapper! Forgiveness and workability. I can't wait to get them.

I have hit these for years. Best irons ever. I learned on some old 70's Wilson Staff blade hand me downs. Hitting the MP 33's was easy.

My first set of irons were 1988 Ben Hogan Apex irons, then those Wilson Staff irons from 1996, now these MP 53's. I think I might play with the MP 53 for 10 years or so. That seems to be the trend.

I have been playing mine for 8 years now. They are still in great shape. The only reason I would change is to get something just slightly more forgiving (like the 53's or the ap2's).

ap2's

Played a round with those the other day. Really nice irons. I played a club longer with them and had a pretty consistent draw all round. Mis-hits went straight and about 2 clubs short.

I recently made the switch to AP2's after playing Taylor Made R7's for several years. I'm probably a club shorter with the AP's, but have them fitted for me and have been pretty deadly accurate thus far. I sold the TM's to a buddy and he's about a club longer and raves about how the TM's do all the work. I've always heard TM's come with stronger lofts than most other clubs though.

Taylormade r7 7-iron is 32 degrees
AP2 7-iron is 35 degrees

That's why you went a club shorter.

Both my (now) old Wilson 7-iron and AP2 7-iron are 35 degrees and I hit the ap2 about 8 yards longer.

That seems like more of a new technology thing than anything. I knew those TM's were stronger, just never took the time to look it up.
