Philosophical Quotes from Deus Ex

This thread probably won't get many views, but for those that enjoyed the game, here are some quote I wrote down when I was high last night
1. Technology offers us strength, strength enables dominance, and dominance paves the way for abuse
2. Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal - Albert Einstein
3. More often than not, haven't the machines we built to improve life shattered the lives of millions?
4. It's in our nature to want to rise above our limits

We were cold, so we harnessed fire. We were weak, so we invented tools. Every time humanity meets an obstacle, we use creativity and ingenuity to overcome it. The cycle is inevitable

Freedom...to those who don't have it, it's more valuable than gold

Absolute freedom is no better than chaos. Society needs laws and regulations to protect it.

Somehow human decency will triumph

Ordinary men and women will have to decide together what course mankind should take

Underrated game. I loved it.

Human revolution I'm referring to

This is the only one I disagree with. How has the blender or microwave shattered the lives of millions? I don't think of WMDs or military hardware as falling into that category because it hasn't directly improved my life?

I must've been blazed out of my mind the entire time I played this because I don't remember a single quote shown.

Balls to the wall, points in my armor and weapon abilities. My favorite was turning off friend-foe identification on turrets and then walking around with it aimed at enemies

Kind of reminded me of old school splinter cell titles with the sneaking and killing.

should of known

Yeah, hacking turrets and robots was great. I remember finding a terminal for a bot, hacking it, sneaking into an air duct and listening to the carnage

The heavy machine gun/chain gun was badass. I always resorted to that when I got spotted

Freaking air-ducts. Whenever there was a hairy situation, there was a well-placed air duct to help me escape.

I believe he was referring to how the american consumer wants iphone/ipods cheap but at the cost of child labor in china. Pretty much anything the US consumes can be directly related to crimes in other countries where government regulation doesn't protect their workers.

re: Philosophical Quotes from Deus Ex

I had more trouble with the police station mission at the beginning of the game than any other mission

I was too weak to kill them all and too impatient to sneak around them all

I would have thought all my MGS and Syphon Filter playing would've made the game easy...although it was later on once you upgrade a few times.
