How seriously do you take guys like Brian Lazarre?

I'm not singling BL out. I honestly get sick of hearing these recruiting "experts" talk about 16 and 17 year olds. Nobody knows what these kids will do but the kids themselves.
Am I out of line?

What is it that made him an expert?
they call him an expert on the radio but doesn't sound too knowledgeable most the time

I lost a lOT of respect for MD when he decided to pile on Miles and blamed him for LSU players not living up to their draft status. It was a bullshite article but he smelled blood in the water and thought it would be fun to write a "slam les miles" article. Then miles loses 3 games in two years and MD looks like a fricking moron.

Do you not read this board and the recruiting board? LSU fans love hearing about recruits and then slobbering all over themselves about how many of them are going to be all americans. No matter who the "experts" are and no matter how silly they may sound, LSU fans love to listen to them and read what they write.
I don't give a damn about a new recruit until I see how he plays on the field. Of course having top ten classes is a must for most years, but all of the hype and BS that gets put on these message boards is insane. You still have people calling into radio shows talking about how great of a qb Russell would be if Miles would just give him a chance.

Correct. I'm pretty sure he is a draft expert. Used to be a NFL scout among other things.

Well Lazare works for a recruiting site so he has to talk recruiting but he's hardly an expert.

Brian Lazarre is great ... at teaching high school calculus, which he taught me at Shaw.

I don't even think the kids know what they are going to do a lot of the time. Ever talk to a teenager? They change their minds often. Not the most stable segment of the population.
