I recently read Water for Elephants on Kindle Lending Library, then rented the movie.

Enjoyed the book. The movie was borderline unwatchable. They changed things that altered the thrust of the book, poorly cast (except for the hybrid antagonist), and the screenplay had no flow--it was as though writer, director and actors were working from a checklist of events in the book.

(I did a search and the only similar topic related to GOT.)

If you want to include comic books, then I'd say X-Men 3

I never liked the movie version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas compared to the book.

not to be a jerk but why in the hell would you waste your time with a love story?

1 circus freak cheats on another circus freak with another circus freak.....um..pretty sure there's better subject matter with a more interesting plot.

WTH, it was the story of the Titanic, just told in a circus. You a chick or something Or are you the type of guy who likes Salmon and Brie?

Salmon and Brie?!?

Wait, I'm so easily sidetracked.

Starship Troopers FTW!

Book was a Hugo Award winning story of interstellar soldiers who were fired as individual bullets out of a ship based gatling gun into the atmosphere of a planet while wearing futuristic almost indestructible tank like pneumatic bodysuits and carrying mini nukes, nerve gas, and psych bombs as part of their personal weapons assortment.

Movie was a bastardized Puke Voorhoeven wet dream starring 90210 model wannabes with pitiful 20th century technology weapons and wearing spandex and bicycle helmets.

I have never been more disappointed in any movie.

Jaws is the absolute worst adaptation of a book ever. The movie was well paced, had a satisfying ending, more likable characters, and was remarkably shorter than the novel.

the Bourne trilogy veered WAY off the books, but at least they were enjoyable

The Running Man bears no resemblance to the book.

Total Recall bears no resemblance to the book.

Eragon was a shitty book made into an even shittier movie.
