Makes sense to me.

Youk is gone after this year, and they wanna see if they can increase his trade value before the deadline.

Or they could play the better hitter and make a push at the Al East.

I'm willing to bet that this is a temporary thing. It's early enough in the season for the Red Sox to try to maximize Youk's worth before moving him and giving Middlebrooks the job for good.

Hopefully for the Red Sox he comes in and rakes between now and the end of July. Angels could use his bat at 3B.

Their outfield is crowded, not at 3B. Have you seen Alberto Callaspo's numbers? He's a fricking joke.

i would love to see a trade like - youk to the brewers for k-rod....if not, youk will prob be traded at the deadline...and for some reason if that doesnt happen, youk is def a goner before spring training 2013- and middlebrooks will have the position to himself for the next 10 years...

too bad youk cant find a way to play left field..the prob is, he already has injuries all over his body, and the sox need him healthy to deal him...playing left at fenway would be an instant death wish for the fat bastard
