quote: I'm always stunned how people can immerse themselves into these beliefs.
into the belief that there is rampant satanism going on all around them? eh, it's typical bogyman journalism that gets people all worked up when there is no real issue
"rainbow parties" "black cats sacrificed at Halloween" so on and so forth

My cousin was in a popular metal band in Louisiana (Acid Bath). They formed right after the 80's. I know at least one of the members is a satanist. I've talked and hung out with a couple of them. It's not what you think, but it's still weird stuff.

The woman in the bad disguise on that Geraldo show was my high school advanced math teacher and quiz bowl sponsor (I know I know). She's from Louisiana. One of her sons was just a bad seed in general and did all kinds of crazy shite and was apparently also involved in Devil Worship in the 80's.

You couldn't go down frenchtown rd. To the railroad tracks because of the damn devil worshipers in the early 80's. Course it could have been just a cool place to hang out and party

Are we talking actual devil-worshippers (whatever that actually entails) or weirdo goth kids who listen to Slayer and are considered Satanic (a la West Memphis Three) by rednecks

I haven't thought about that shite in a long time....rumors of devil worship were absolutely rampant around central louisiana during the '80s....but I was out and about a hell of a lot and never saw one single bit of evidence that it existed...

In Shreveport we had the Satan School down ellerbe.. Loved going down there at night in the early 90s while in high school.. Satanic writing all over the walls...pretty creepy at that age

Just whomever was considered part of the "Satanic movemet" that the media freaked out about. I guess it could include teens going through phases as well.

A frat brother claimed to be a satanist (not the CIA guy, a different one ). I never could pin down whether he was for real or just running an elaborate hoax.

Houma had some teens who got into that stuff in the mid 80s. They don't talk about it though...they are fine upstanding members of the community these days.
