what volocity range would you consider...

a pitcher to be stereotyped as a finesse pitcher in the majors?

Ive always said right at 90. Above you can be more of a power/finesse like CJ Wilson and Cliff Lee and below is a finesse pitcher.

I don't think you can really put an exact number on it. There's guys that can throw 95, but their out pitch is something off speed, then there are guys that top out a like 88, but have a little movement and excellent locations, so their out pitch is a well located 2 seam.

Look if you are in the majors you are a finesse pitcher, no one can consistently overpower MLB hitters.

Fastball under 92 MPH with lots of off-speed pitches in his arsenal.

SP - one whose average fastball is below 91.0 mph
RP - one whose average fastball is below 93.0 mph

first, your question makes no sense so it's hard to answer.

I believe a 90mph fb from a righty is considered "average". I think it's 88 or 89 for a lefty.

But it's not simply the velocity of one's fastball that "stereotypes" them into that category.
