| Million-dollar arms: Six top quarterbacks in NFL (Posted on 5/12/12 at 9:45 am)

Drew Brees Brees also has thrived in New Orleans without an elite receiver and his numbers since coming to the Big Easy have been staggering. Brees has topped 4,000 passing yards in all six of his seasons in New Orleans. And this year he broke Dan Marino's single-season passing record, after he came oh-so-close back in 2008. The only drawback here is the Saints are dragging their feet in making him a multi-million dollar arm.

That opinion is going to change soon if Colston stays healthy and we keep Graham He still doesn't have a Randy Moss, Fitz, Andre Johnosn, or Calvin Johnson though

Colston isn't elite and almost certainly never will be. Calling him elite would be like calling Matt Stafford elite and doing a disservice to Fitz, CJ, and AJ. He's certainly in that second tier of WRs, though I would actually put Mike Wallace alone in the second tier and about 7 or 8 other guys in the third tier with Colston.

I may consider Graham elite if he puts up another year like the last, but he's still a tight end

Graham will continue to have success like this past season. He, along with Gronkowski, will be the top tight ends for some time. We're lucky. I wouldn't say Colston is elite, but it's fair to say that he is underrated. Brees makes guys better, but you don't put up numbers consistently like he does without being a really good receiver.

Jennings and Colston are pretty equal in production since they got drafted in 2006, both benefit from great QB's, but both are beasts regardless

Colston is a possesion WR so he will never get the kind of appreciation he deserves. Yeah, their numbers are close but Jennings has 60 less receptions than Colston. Thing is, Jennings only trails Colston by 69 yards in receiving yards for his career. Jennings has only 1 TD more than Colston. I wouldn't consider Colston elite but there is no reason he shouldn't be considered anything less than a tier 2 WR in my opinion. The Saints offense spreads the ball around too much for one guy to really stand out, imo. That is what helps make it what it is. The BEST in the league

Jimmy Graham is basically an elite WR Seriously though, the Graham, Hernandez, and Jermicheal Finley's of the world are eventually just going to be classified as huge WRs that sometimes block pretty soon.

You can compare the game footage of both Jennings and Colston and can see Jennings has much better playmaking ability. I was pretty irked that year that Donald Driver was selected over Colston to the pro bowl when it was obvious that Colston was the best receiver on his team and had better stats.

Unlike the other two mentioned, Jimmy Graham is about half a dozen fried catfish away from being OT weight and can still have an athletic looking build. I think he can develop into a pretty good blocker.
