Rece Davis USC intro and gameplay

Scouting:
quote:

The new Scouting experience starts in the pre-season where each Coach will have 20 hours to scout players to determine their actual attributes, eventually unlocking their true Overall rating. This time in the pre-season is best spent trying to find the most suitable players to fill a team’s needs, looking for gems and trying to filter out the prospects that do not quite meet expectations. Going into the regular season each Coach should have some knowledge of the abilities of players on their recruiting board.

Breaking into the top 10:
quote:

Scouting is vital to the recruiting strategy this year, largely because of the changes that were made to how prospects’ interest in schools is calculated. Prospects will now have open spots in their Top 10 to consider other schools than those on their initial short list. Previously, it was very difficult, and sometimes felt impossible,to break into a prospect’s Top 10 schools if you were not there already. Now, if you see an open spot on a prospect’s Top 10, it may be worth adding them to your recruit board. This may be enough to gain some interest in the prospect, and break into their Top 10.

Also:
Dynamic Pitches - (Many of each school's pitches fluctuated throughout the year based on what's happened)

Phone Call - No more roulette. User dictates phone calls.

Website improvements - All offseason activities are available on NCAA 13 OD website.

Dynasty Presentation

Operation Deep Dive

quote:

One huge feature everyone is sure to love in NCAA Football 13 is how the game emulates the stories of Saturday. One of the things that really keeps a Dynasty player engaged is to become totally immersed into the emerging stories within the dynasty. Now, while you are playing your dynasty games, you'll receive in-game Studio Updates containing late-breaking action, ESPN style, with commentary by ESPN's very own Rece Davis! The ESPN-styled update is done very realistically, so, if you are playing an early game, for example, you would not get scores from a game that is being played later that evening. EA has also added an ESPN Bottom Line ticker, which is virtually identical to its real-life counterpart in appearance and functionality. The ESPN Bottom Line ticker, which displays at the bottom of the screen, keeps you updated with non-stop updates while you are in the middle of playing your game with scores from games in progress around the league.

What I, along with everyone else, want to know is will we be able to return kicks with a player in RTG mode?

If anything it give you something to do recruiting wise besides fill your board in the preseason. It will also help to find hidden gems and 5 star busts (forgot to include that in OP).

I would give up every one of these for the ability to add onto a stadium. It is way over due. I never play with a big school and am trying to build up a school. How am I suppose to get into the SEC with Florida International when my stadium holds 10,000 people? It is beyond annoying.

i agree. that would be very cool.

if somehow winning conf titles/bcs bowls added to your budget and then you could spend money on stadium expansion, facilities, shite to improve your ratings, when pitching to recruits

Exactly what you just said. I think they should have focused on that more than these features. Those are much more important than presentation.

I'd love to have the AD mode added in, but I also want them to have it set up correctly before implementing it. Coaching carousel is a good example of them having a great feature, but not executed as well as it could have been. I can wait for AD mode, but having these presentation features will definitely keep the game from becoming stale too soon.

I would still want that ability to be a coach in the coaching carousel and be able to add onto stadiums.

I have a feeling RTG will have a bunch of amazing updates, and that is all good, but the majority of NCAA gameplayers spend a large chunk of dynasty mode. I'd rather all dynasty mode and no RTG mode.

Haven't read the thread but I'll post my thoughts:

Okay so I just checked out the new Dynasty changes they have implemented and I'll give them credit, it sounds like a step in the right direction, if only a small one.

Here are some of the changes I'd make, mainly just to recruiting:

1. Something has to be done about the standard 10 hours each week. Maybe dig up that old feature where you could allot certain time to recruiting, developing, and discipline, but leave the discipline off. Would you prefer to recruit more or practice more? For me, I'd like to go all in on two big classes with several top 250 recruits and then spend the next two seasons heavily on development and just filling in some blanks with 10-15 recruits the next season. I wish they'd up it to 85 players you can sign and you could offer guys deals as walkons as well, but that's another story.

2. Don't limit my time with a player. If I want to spend 10 hours with a recruit, then let me, as long as he isn't turned off by the conversation.

3. Let me pick the pitches I want to gauge interest level in and let me decide how long I want to use them. If I want to spend 10 minutes on Location and 2 hours harping on my Coaching style, then let me.

4. Have some dynamics going on during the pitches with different recruits. For example, if a recruit is very high on my school, it will only take me 5 minutes to unlock his interest in a pitch. If the player could give a damn about my school, then make it 20 minutes. Also gives us a gauge how far along we are with a recruit and a true measure of how interested he is in the pitches and how close he is to committing.

5. Break down the Location/Campus Lifestyle pitches further. For location, I wouldn't make much changes, but get a little more accurate with the distances. Jacksonville to SC is a lot closer than say, DC. Show that dynamic and do a break down of it. If a guy wants to play close to home, than anything within a 100 miles is an A+, 200 miles, make it A, and so on and such. As for campus lifestyle, have it tell you what kind of environment the player wants to play in. Factor in weather (Hot/warm/average/cool/cold), geography (mountains/flatlands/beaches/wilderness), and the size of the location of your campus (small town, big town, small city, average city, big city, huge city).

Let's say you have a recruit from Jacksonville. He wants a warm climate, with access to beaches, and a small city. His top two choices are South Carolin and Miami. Miami is more hot while SC is more warm. Miami has obviously easier access to beaches, but Columbia is a small city while Miami is a big city. So we'd have a slightly advantage there.

5. They need to revamp prestige measurements. I went from no prestige to A+ prestige in 2 seasons. How? I was the OC at San Jose State. We went 5-7. Our offense was borderline top 30, but mainly because I would throw the ball 60-70 times a game. Then I went to SMU as the OC and we went 13-1 (lost in our bowl) and we had a top 20 offense. That's absurd. You should need more than 2 seasons to go from a no name hack of a coach with no experience to one of the most prestigious coaches in the game (I was literally in elite company).

6. Add the assistants in. Make them dynamic as well. Like you can bring a guy in that is a great coverage and tackling guru, but his players tend to put on extra pounds and lose speed or their play recog. suffers. Add some risk and reward to it. Obviously the best coaches with have more and higher rewards and lesser and lower risks while the bad coaches would be vice versa. The more prestigious your coach is the more likely a guy is to want to work with him and your defensive philosophies would have to click as well. Give certain schools athletic budgets as well. Obviously Texas and Florida would start out higher while Eastern Michigan and Tulane would be on the lower end. Have it be able to change based on the attendance and going to bigger and better bowl games.

7. Allow the cpu to make dynamic changes to the bowl structure. If the Pac-12 falls on hard times and is no longer justifiably an elite conference, then after several years, take their auto-bid away. If the Mountain West is showing out then in turn give them the auto-bid. Also, it would be nice if you let the User fiddle with all bowl tie ins. If I want to make all the non-BCS bowls with no tie-ins then let me do so. If I want the BCS bowls to not have tie ins, let me do so. Give me more control over my dynasty experience so that I can tweak it to my liking.

But before we implement all of this, can we for the love of god get the gameplay on lock? Seriously, don't add/modify the outside stuff for a year maybe two and just get the gameplay squared away. Once you get it set, then all you have to do is just upload the same gameplay engine the next year and maybe add in a few animations here and there. It's not that much to ask for. Make those little nonsense modes like Mascot and one button mode, DLC. Charge $5 buck for them if you want, I really don't care. But they take up valuable game memory and maybe 1% of your gamers ever use it more than once.

And for the love of god, add in those extra passer ratings that Madden has. You know, SAC, MAC, DAC, PA, TOR. Just please get those in there. I know it's too late for this year, but for 2014 get them in there and then in 2015 add in the playing styles as well. KTHXBAI.

Oh and on that main recruiting board, give us more than 40 times, BP, Squats and Awareness. All of the guys are stupid so we know that. Drop in some agility, acceleration, and verticals as well please.

The stadiums are copyrighted by the schools...therefore you can't change their image. That's the main reason why they will more than likely never have that feature.
