How long does LSU continue their run of awesome?

Spinoff from the "Does the past 13 years change the perception of LSU football." We've all seen dominate years by many teams throughout the years (Miami,USC,Bama). How much longer can LSU continue their streak of dominance? I think the next 5 years look very promising for the Tigers and I can see a few more really good classes coming in the next few years. I think they could easily stretch this into the 2020's.

LSU will always be awesome. How long will this winning trend continue? Until CLM retires.

For another decade. Miles will retire in 6-8 years, in my opinion.

I hope we can squeeze out at least one more MNC but I dunno...

I realize that we will have some down years down years here and there like any school but there are so many things working in Lsu favor to stay on top.
1. In state talent year in and year out.
2. The amount of money that people are willing to donate to the program.
3. Very Little competition from in state schools
4 I think the most important thing to our success is having the right people in place that will make the best hire for Lsu coaching wise and will continue to put a premium on getting the top assistants in the country and paying them top dollar.

It's not hard to become mediocre. Look at Florida after they lost their coach. LSU fans need to appreciate les miles more than they do.

Do you not read this board often? The run of awesome is already over. The program is sinking! DONE!

We could go easy on the dominant talk. If I didn't know better I may mistake us for a USC DYNASTY with a total of ONE winner take all crystal. This program is at a level that I've never been lucky enough to see at LSU and it is only getting better, but we aren't quite dominant yet.

I do my best to avoid these threads.

wow
whats so wow about that?
Les will be here another 6 to 8 years. he won one in his first 7 years. we play in the toughest division of the toughest conference in America. Its not that farfetched to believe we may not win another national title in his tenure.

I look at it this way... the perception is in the eyes (minds) of the generation that is growing up with it. My boys don't remember when we sucked or when baseball was not relevent or when LSU Basketball was worth a shite.
they also do not know about the USC trojans past or Notre Dames past so their perception is much different. they have witnessed Florida go from penthouse to outhouse* in the college world so they are aware that programs can and do change rapidly from season to season.
its not so much an arguement over perception versus reality as it is an observation
good post for a friday
*to go from 2 MNC's in 3 years to letting a punter score on you from 60 yards out is my point so my penthouse to outhouse really is not a stretch.

I like your vision.
the mathimatical odds say that Louisiana is "due" to start producing some serious qb talent and if that comes to fruition we will maintain our elite status. I've got to believe that literally every Louisiana kid with talent wants to see his name on the back of a white, purple and gold jersey.

Miles proves he can mould the team to do well even with less than perfect QB play.
