I just watched the first 2 episodes of Jericho and liked it, but I know it was cancelled early. Did they wrap it up well or will I be disappointed if I keep watching?

You won't be severely disappointed but they had to wrap it up in a hurry.

Why was this cancelled again?

I know a lot of people who really enjoyed this show including myself.

Ratings man. Like everything else.

They thought they could do better, but rarely do broadcasters find something better, and the have another new show in the slot every two years.

Here's my take on Jericho (one of my favorite shows in the last 10 years)

1. There are two sides to Jericho. One side is the interpersonal stories and drama that the characters are involved in. The other side is the macro level political aspects to what is actually happening around these people.

2. Season 1 does a good job of mixing the two.

3. Season 2 is very short and primarily concentrates on the macro political stuff to tie up the story.

4. I loved the ending because I loved the macro political stuff way more than I did the interpersonal stuff.

It just depends on what you find most interesting.

Yes and no.

Jericho came along when Tivo and On-Demand was just catching on. Networks didn't know how to use that data. It also suffered from that ill thought out mid-season "break". People stopped watching half-way through the first season and never picked it back up.

Wasn't there a writers strike during that time as well?

I think that came after, but I believer Jericho was the first to have the mid-season break that's common now. Back then, I remember being all WTF?! I picked the show back up, but a lot of people didn't. They showed a significant ratings drop after the break.

I couldn't remember. I really liked the show and hated that it was cut short.
