He has a .919 fielding percentage in the outfield and that is unacceptable no matter what his batting average is. Mainieri's heart is in the right place because I know he want's to do whats best for the kid and why shouldn't he when Raph bats .500 and is draft eligible. I think it would be better for Raph to DH than look awful starting in the outfield and obviously hurting the team. It's also not fair to Jacoby for Mainieri to bench him for missing a ground ball that was ruled a hit (per quotes from Mainieri)!! He has the highest fielding percentage (.992) of all the regular starters for crying out loud! Be a man and bench him cause he looks awful at the plate and was 3 for his last 32!!

Just my opinion

This is dumb. Do you really want to risk tensing him up at the plate over 2 or 3 errors? Playing DH is very different because that's all you do. You feel like you MUST hit and it can put a lot of added pressure on you.

Dont ruin a guy hitting 500 just because he gave someone 1 extra base here and there.

So you like seeing Raph in the outfield or do you get scared evertime a pop fly goes his way?

If a guy is hitting .500, I'll live with a few errors here and there, even as an outfielder.

MAYBE OUR SUPPOSED "ALL-STAR" PITCHING STAFF SHOULD QUIT LETTING GUYS HIT IT TO THE OUTFIELD.

I bet Raph fields better than you, you won't be able to catch 9 out of 10 flyballs.

If u think he has a .919 fielding percentage and only 2 or 3 then you are dumb and stupid my friend. He has cost more single to be doubles then i ever seen too.

Jones is not hitting the ball well and just isn't himself this season. That's why he got benched.

Rhymes made a few mistakes in the outfield. It happens. His batting average easily outweighs these mistakes.

The team is still heading for a regional in Baton Rouge.

He does catch field better than me but I've coached in little league and they catch 9 out of 10 flyballs.

1. Im not your friend
2. He only has 5 errors. Im sure you would be praising his defense if he only had 2 so you look stupid now.
3. He has been a stud. Say what you must about his defense, but it honestly isn't that bad.
