I have seen several post of our SEC stats and rankings but thought it would be interesting to see where we stack up nationally! Here are just a few things I found interesting!

Batting Avg.- Lsu ranks 39 in the nation with a 302 BA.

ERA- Lsu is 23 in the nation with a 2.96 ERA.

Fielding Percentage- Lsu ranks 14 in the nation with a .978 fielding percentage.

Strikeouts per nine- Lsu leads the nation in strike outs per nine by our pitching at 9.1 a game!

Strikeouts to walk ratio- Lsu is second in our strikeout to walk ratio at 3.74 strikeouts to 1 walk.

OBP- Lsu is 47 nationally with an OBP of .386.

Slugging- Lsu is 60 in the nation slugging .422.

Scoring- Lsu is tied for 24 scoring 7 runs a game.

Home Runs- Lsu is tied for 112 with 19 Home Runs.

Walks allowed per nine- Lsu is 11 in the nation allowing 2.42 walks per game.

Raph Rhymes- leads the nation in hitting at .472.

These were just a few interesting stats I pulled of the NCAA website for more info just go to the NCAA divison 1 baseball site!

as long as our scoring is twice as much as our ERA, well that's just fine.

We will only be left with tales of the great days of gorilla ball to tell future generations.

Thanks NCAA.

Problem with stats about batting average & offensive stats is it should be weighted by strength of schedule like a handicap. We've faced a pretty stiff schedule so far with some decent pitchers.

My guess is that the leaders have not faced a very difficult schedule.
