Short version:
Ducks keep going into my azalea bushes and laying eggs..same duck forgets she laid the eggs and they end up rotting and dying in my bushes. I'm not keen on picking up rotten eggs, and this duck keeps coming back and hanging out in my frontyard all lost and whatnot.

Is there anything you can do to scare ducks away aside from killing it (Not happening, I think my neighborhood association would frown on that), not sitting in my front yard and yelling at the duck (I'm not crazy, yet......) or anything other inhumane idea.

Is there something you can buy to scare it off?

I have 10 Mallards and they hatch out around 30 every year. I invite a couple freinds over and we use fish dip nets. Pretty fun after a few beers.

ETA: have a dog kennel handy when you catch it.

yellow lab. great family dog, and they love to chase/catch ducks. duck can always fly away, and eventually it will realize your yard is not a good spot to lay eggs.

Put up pics of this guy all around your flowerbeds.

why dont you try to talk to it...sit it down and just tell it that if you are going to coexist with it and the pitter patter of little feet, you are going to need a commitment

that should scare it off for good

I'm not so sure that will work

eta: Also, getting another dog can't happen. I already have two useless tiny dogs.

The green-wired ones blend in so well you can barely see them...

You could go buy a few hundred black cat firecrackers. Then find a couple of neighborhood kids that is willing to camp in your yard all weekend for about twenty bucks apiece plus some sammiches and pizza. They will then throw a firecracker at the bird every time he wonders into your yard. The bird will either get the point or lose its hearing.

Get one of these.

Gray Rat Snake

It will eat the eggs, and eat the ducklings but likely leave the duck alone.
