I'm going there this weekend for a family reunion. Staying in cabins at the State Park. Looking to tear up the bass, crappie, etc.

Anyone fish this lake?

I had to be in ruston for a couple months last summer and I bank fished the lake a good bit. I caught plenty bass and hybrids on black and grey crank baits under the bridges.

The last time I was there was November 2009. I remember because it was when PP7 got jipped on the bad call on the INT. Anywho, I digress.

I bank fished from the fishing piers that are near the cabins, and caught some nice fish on jig and trailers.

The bream are hot right now. I caught over 100 on Good Friday. You can also catch as many catfish as you want in the 2 to 3 pound range on shiners at night on yo-yos. We loaded up on them as well. Someone pn here tore the bass up not too long ago, but I haven't bass fished there in quite a few years. My dad and 2 brother in laws fish Lake D'Arbonne almost every weekend now.

The large island in the kitchen of those cabins are perfect for beer pong, it was like they made it for beer pong!

My college buds go there once a year. Just catfish and drink..
