How would it result in an increase in investments?

This morning I heard the snippet of him saying "We can't afford to keep spending on tax cuts for the rich..." How do you spend on a tax cut?

Well once the government shuts down the ability to give charity without jumping through 50 hoops (as they're trying to do in Houston), we won't need them.

It is a propaganda technique, and one of the ones that annoys me more than most.

It saddens me that people accept that statement with the way it is worded.

By refusing to cut back your spending even when you know you can't afford all the stupid shite you are paying for with your credit card.

"investments" in liberal speak = 'tax revenue.'
Tax revenue = more stimulus packages.
Stimulus packages = growth.

He's too dumb to understand that more taxing and spending would be doubleungood for the economy.

We all knew what we were getting when Obama was elected, a committed liberal Socialist. Elections have consequences. Big business is evil and government is the solution to all problems. He's not stupid just brainwashed in liberal philosophy from an early age. To understand Obama, you need look no further than his background and his associates.

why does this surprise anyone?

the same administration tried to tell us that raising taxes on the evil oil companies would reduce gas prices.

Of course this is no surprise to me or most on this board, but did Obama really just publicly admit that the "Buffet Rule" will NOT be used to shrink the deficit? So now Obama himself is spelling out the gimmick and the flaws. Obama is Awesome.

Not in the least. He is a general who understands lay-of-the-land perfectly. He has what would be an incredibly unpopular agenda. However, by choosing the battlefield carefully, he's able to forward it.

OTOH, Press Members giving his duplicitous spin unquestioned carte blanche may well be the dumbest batch of Journalists in this country's history.
