How did LSU not have a candidate waiting for the Basketball job?

I don't, but he was a hot seat coach anyway. Should of had a "Short List" of 5 coaches that could be hired if the job opened.

Well, you might not have been aware that NCAABB signing day was yesterday, so I'm sure this last week has been pretty freaking hectic for every major coach in D1.

So...that coach would have to have been juggling making sure their class was getting filled in (in case the LSU job does not work out), and talking with LSU in hopes that it does work out.

The coach would also, hopefully, have been making sure that he didn't frick his current program by leaving the day before signing day, thus making him look like a complete a-hole.

I'd imagine now that signing day is over - there will be a hire fairly quickly.

The truth is that it is a lot more complicated than just picking who you want. You have to find someone who is interested and hat is not as easy as it sounds when you also have high standards.

The second LSU identifies a target that fits what they are looking for and who also expresses real interest in the job, LSU will move as quickly as possible.
