Is Mark Barron the most Over Rated Player being touted as a 1st rounder?

I'm panicking as I keep reading the cowboys have serious interest in him with their first pick. Surely this has to be posturing. surely Jerry is not this dumb.
I watched the guy play in big games for for years and he is pedestrian. Take him off that team in Bama and he would not stand out.
This would be a catastrophic pick in the first round

On the other hand, I have been impressed with their free agent moves.

He's a solid in the box style safety in a class that really doesn't have a lot of talent at the safety position.

He's certainly not first-round material.
Remember his game against Auburn in 2010? Guy got owned.

You must not have heard of a guy by the name of Ryan Tannehill.

This is an insanly weak Saftey class so his stock has sky rocketed
ETA ^ has a point. Tannahil is about to be taken like 90 spots earlier than he should

Personally, I'd rather have Chung.

Cue the "He's the best safety in the draft, cuz Saban said so" bama idiots.

Solid response.

No, he's just the best Safety in the draft. If he's not a first round pick, he wont get picked there. Safety isn't a position teams reach for.

Teams will reach for a safety in a draft this bad.

He had a torn pec and couldn't lift his arm over his head.

Got owned...twice
I'd still like for the Broncos to draft him and play him in the box to help with run support. Just don't put him out on and island with a WR, and watch the double-moves. He falls for them everytime.

I recall him being hurt then.
What was his 40 time at the Bama pro day?

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Former Alabama safety Mark Barron said he was somewhere between 80 and 90 percent healthy today when he performed at the school's second Pro Day of the month.
Still recovering from double hernia surgery performed in January, Barron reported ran the 40-yard dash in the 4.53- to 4.57-second rang

I keep hoping Dontari Poe will fall to us. It sounds like enough time has cooled teams down from the Combine performance to where he could drop.
A line of Coleman, Poe and Ratliff moving outside would be pretty nice

In today's NFL I would much rather have Harrison Smith or Brandon Taylor, or hell even draft Kirkpatricka nd play him at FS.
