Charley Casserly talks about value picks after the first round.

I was wondering when the Brandon Taylor secret would come out. He will be a solid pickup in the third, for any team.

This baffles me. The man was a third year starter in an incredibly strong unit and was always a solid and reliable player you could count on. Will go second or third round likely. Just don't get why our fan base didn't appreciate him more. Maybe we just had so much talent in other areas. I don't know.

not really. he was one of those guys that was called underrated a bit too much IMO and was rated/ appreciated just about right. Eric Alexander in 03 was underappreciated. Chris Faulk last yr was underappreciated. hell, I thought Curt Taylor in 07 was underappreciated.

He was very appreciated by anybody with a more than surface-level knowledge of the game. He didn't make tons of big turnovers or blow people up on kickoff coverage or return kicks or do the other stuff that appeals to the casual fan, but I can't remember anyone ever saying a negative word about the guy in 3+ years. Anytime his name is brought up on message boards, it's nothing but high praise for his game and concern over missing his leadership next year. He may even be in danger of entering the Ben Wallace Zone--been called underrated so much that he might be becoming overrated.

He was under appreciated because our star gazing fan based wanted Loston to start because he can "lay the wood".

nobody wanted Loston to start over BT. now Loston (or Reid) over Hatcher is a different story.

Ron's an interesting case. kept getting passed up by younger guys. for a time in the spring of 09, he was actually supposed to be Brandon Taylor (the SS), but then BT won the job and Ron wasn't heard of much until 2010. Ron always struck me as a safety in a CB's body. but I think he can be a good Tampa 2 zone-type CB in the NFL.

Brandon Taylor made some great shoe string tackles saving TDs in his time.

Great Tiger.

I talked to Brandon's brother Jhyryn (former LSU Tiger) at the spring game and he told me the Saints were interested in taking him in the 2nd round until they lost their pick. Expected to go in the 3rd fwiw

Always one of my favorite players at LSU. He is going to make some serious noise at the next level.

wasn't BT the excuse we used for JJ in 2009?
