Increases in velocity for HS and College Pitchers...

I was on the lazy side when pitching at the HS and College levels and never really saw any drastic increases in velocity. I just read the Bio for the Bonvillain kid that pitched so well this weekend against the Gators and noticed he gained almost 10mph since HS. Anyone else experience these type gains in their playing days?

Not that big of a jump, but a bit.

Ben Sheets threw about 82-84 in high school and touched 97 at ULM.

What about arm injury/Tommy John surgeries? How much has that increased over time?

I am surprised that the Marshall technique for pitching never caught on, since it was designed both to increase speed by 5 MPH and to minimize shoulder damage.
