In the past EA has been criticized for acquiring smaller development studios in order to take hold of their intellectual property assets, while dramatically changing their games, reported the Escapist.

It has also been accused of holding back game content to charge for it later or putting out shoddy games, reported The Consumerist.

Thoughts?

Anyone who has played an EA game in the last 10 years already knew this.

I came to this conclusion after BFBC2 would randomly decide to be unplayable due to EA server issues. shite would royally piss me off.

EA may have questionable business practices but they are hardly the worst company in America and quiet frankly didn't deserve to be in the bracket.

Agree, their sports franchises have really doomed them in the last few years.

I used to be a big fan of Madden and Live but looking at how great NFL 2k5 was and how great NBA 2k12 is, it is hard not to imagine what could have been with NFL 2k12

I hate EA as much as the next person, but as long as we keep buying their shitty games they won't change

You say they won't change, but they are taking huge hits to their image publicly and their stock has been doing pretty badly for a while.

Who knows? Maybe they will rethink their system of business....

What the hell am I thinking?

100% agree. Nothing will change if people keep buying them year after year, Personally I haven't bought Madden since 09 and I didn't buy NCAA 12, but it was given to me as a gift for xmas.

Technically speaking they did have a lot to do with that considering that they own the company.

EA owns Bioware.

Or is it just coincidence that franchises go to shite post-EA acquisition?

Command and Conquer is another fine example.
