Do you recognize their greatness, or dismiss them as a bubble gum group for teenage girls? Hell, maybe in ten years, Bieber will be hailed as a musical genius. Ok, maybe not.

I think the difference between The Beatles and Bieber is quality. Even in the 60s, critics and musicians alike acknowledged how good their music was. It wasn't like Led Zeppelin who received belated praise from magazines like Rolling Stone.

Well that and the Beatles could actually play instruments. I've always wondered why they get compared to boy bands who just dance and lip sync.

Yeah, let's pick that one song of over 200 in their catalog as an example of their songwriting.

Not every band is infallible. Yellow Submarine and Magical Mystery Tour weren't their best albums. But they recovered with two of the greatest albums of all-time in The Beatles (White Album) and Abbey Road.

I would probably be amazed by their talents but at the same time would probably hate them because they are taking our women.

There are all sorts of videos of them playing live on YouTube. Watch them perform, and you will see that they were talented musicians. Their song writing early in their career followed the formula of rock and roll songs from the 1950's. They had an energy and intensity to them that fired up an audience when played live. Check out their covers of classic songs by American artists. As they developed they grew much more creative in their song writing. It's a shame they had to stop performing live after 1966, but when you see how crowds reacted to their performances they didn't have much choice.

For every bad song you name I can name 10 good ones. I can't say the same for The Rolling Stones. There's another band who put more effort into their singles than into the actual album itself.

No, they are not. Good Day Sunshine won high praise from Leonard Bernstein among other commetators. What is wrong with simple songs that express joy or happiness? Are the melodies offensive or the sounds discordant to you?

List five recording teams/artists in the rock or pop fiels who are/were more talented in terms of songwriting. By the way, it is only fair to consder the fact that The Beatles wrote and performed in the sixties through 70 in entirely different age in terms of music sophistication and culture. Popular music was still evolving and The Beatles only wrote and performed together for less than a decade. Yet they were far ahead of the curve in terms of sophistication AND accessibility at the same time.

You sort of sound like someone who thinks The Doors were geniuses over the Beatles because they were melancholy and drunk and miserable and wrote long-winded blowhard songs.
