The NFL has already said they will not facilitate a NFLPA investigation. That includes turning over evidence.

So they want the NFLPA to recommend suspensions, but wont turn over any of the evidence needed to review to recommend said suspensions?

Are they just asking for the players to appeal? There might even be a legal issue here if Goodell goes overboard on the suspensions.

Any punishment handed down to player from the NFL has to go through the NFLPA, they are a union with all the union by-laws. No the NFL does not have to wait on a NFLPA investigation but they do have to have proof of evidence before handing down punishment.

We all know this. It was reported earlier in the whole thing that the NFL is turning over nothing. The Saints even didnt allow interviews of effected personnel by the NFLPA.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It certainly gives SP and Vitt and potential bargaining chip for their appeals.

The longer this whole mess drags out, the more questions will be raised. If any players are to be punished it also has to go through the NFLPA. If you have hard evidence release what it is and lets get on with it.
The way this is being dragged out leads me to believe that what they have is not so concrete and just maybe God-dell over reacted due to the media out bursts. If no evidence comes out to justify the situation the NFL may just have this whole thing blow up in their face.
Now would that not be sweet.
