| NCAA 2012 help needed (Posted on 3/26/12 at 2:51 pm)
Having problems with an online dynasty. It has a bug (which I now see to be common on 2012 after some internet research) where, very often, user vs. user bowl games are unable to be played because it keeps freezing on a black screen or the first view of the field. No matter how many times you restart with new connections or systems, it rotates between those two.
Anyone had these problems and know of a solution?
The best thing that came from my search was an OS forum post of the following.
1. You have to save the dynasty file, if you don't then this isn't even an option
2.Delete/retire the bugged franchise
3. Go under the System Settings tab in the main menu (I think it's called system settings) and choose "File Management" and select "Load/Delete"
4. Change the tab from Profile to Online Dynasty with the LT (Or whatever button it is on PS3 lol)
5. Click on your dynasty file and confirm when it asks if you want to make a new OD with the current file.
Would this completely create new recruits and mess up the current status? Just looking for some answers before I delete the file.

I had to do this to my dynasty in year 4, but for a different reason. I couldn't advance from week to week midseason. The coaches lose there win\loss records after the reload, but the dynasty is still intact. They have the same recruits, etc.
ETA: Coaches names remain even though you recreate the dynasty. So if your buddy's real name showed up under the head coach for Utah State, when you reload the dynasty, his name will still be attached to that team and he will be able to pick up right where he left off.

Hey par,
wouldn't we lose our coaching progress though? For instance, everyone would be back to C rankings instead of the As some people have reached after six seasons in the online dynasty?
Also worried about recruits. I assume it creates a whole new board and doesn't copy that over.
Probably gonna brave through it and just hope it doesn't happen every year. It always seems to be the Rose Bowl.

I believe the coaches remain the same. They will lose their records though. I think you also have to change what star school others users can start on.
Example: My league coaches had to start out as a OC or DC for a 1 star team. When our league froze, the other two coaches were HC from 3star and above teams. So I set the new league (which was a backup copy of the old league) to allow the coaches to pick any school.
Recruiting boards stayed the same to my knowledge.

I've had to do this 4 or 5 times in my dynasty which is in Season 10 now. There are no negative consequences except that anything that has been done since it was last saved (probably the beginning of the week you are in) will have to be redone. Also, make sure no one creates a new coach when they accept their invite back into the dynasty because they will lose their coach prestige and coach loyalty as well as your record.
