it redirects you to something fricking stupid and not what you're looking for?
I haven't been able to use Google properly in over a week.
anyone else know something about this?

I had this once. I was looking at midget porn and somehow downloaded it. It's hard to get rid of anf I tried everything. Finally went to the OT and someone linked me to an article on how to get rid of it.

I looked it up for you and apparently W32.Blasterworn is fake so you are getting a fake message so that you will try to remove it instead of the real virus.
So there's that
Have you tried Malwarebytes?
The free version will scan and get rid of a lot of crap
LINK
ETA: You have a redirect virus. Here is some info on it and how to get rid of it.

I got a redirect virus like this on my work computer last year and IT had to rebuild my PC completely to get rid of it. Good luck, it was a real PITA.

It's a rogue security program. I had it multiple times, I think I just never really got rid of it. Sometimes it did that with google, other times not. I got rid of it all but the last time by using Malwarebytes Anti Malware in safe mode. But the last time it wouldn't work, so I booted in safe mode, backed up the essentials, and reformatted. It worked, started using Avast free antivirus and scan with Malwarebytes every now and then and it's been fine ever sense.

Try Hitman Pro. It's a great tool to use after you have already been infected. They have a free 30 day trial.

i had that, and it was a complete bitch to get rid of. it was some kind of firefox add on issue that would redirect me from google to spam sites. i tried everything i could think of (malwarebytes, etc.), and ended up just removing firefox from my computer and switching to google chrome. problem solved.

Hey TTF, did you delete firefox altogether? and if so, how do you do this?
Posted on 3/23/12 at 1:10 pm to Michael J Cocks
Tdsskiller
Rkill
Malwarebytes
Run these in safe mode, in that order.
After you do that, buy malwarebytes

Hugo's 4th Help Board Post of the Day
I had this nasty virus on my last laptop and it pretty much ruined it.
Even after I formatted the hard drive five time and ran malwarebytes, it still had the same reoccurring problem.
My laptop was already 4-5 years old and ran on Vista. It seemed like the virus somehow affected the HD and/or memory. I would turn my laptop on and after about five minutes the cursor would be disabled (never ending spiny disc).
I gave up and bought a new one, which I was due to do anyway.
However, after reading this thread, I am going to revisit my old laptop and see if it can be resurrected.
Confidence is not high.

I love the lurkers.
It's really just to preempt the bitches from bitching.
(no more posts for me)
Edit: I will try the fellow's advice in the post below this one when I get home.

One of my co-workers got this on Firefox last week at work and couldn't get it off with malwarebytes. I had him download that Hitman Pro that I linked above and it caught it and deleted it on the first try without even going in to safemode.
