Bobby McCray was able to retire after the 2009 season from tax free bounty cash.

GTFO

This is pro football. This is legalized assault and battery. These guys are paid to beat the shite out of each other and take great pride in doing so... I guarantee a lot of other teams have done similar things in the past and really do not care if this makes us "dirty" or not.

The way the league will see it is that, sure they are paid to hit each other, but not knock anyone out of the game purposefully. I think there will be some serious shite.

This will particularly chap Goodell's arse. This goes against every little pampered arse way he is trying to ruin the league. I do think it is boneheaded to have a bounty system to injure players. A bounty system for big hits would be okay but you know Goodell is going to want to make a statement like stripping us of draft picks to promote his agenda. If that SOB takes a high draft pick I say we all chip in to a bounty on a full padded hit on Goodell. And to make it really special we will hire Goodell's BFF, James Harrison to do it.

first report was from a player after '09. Likely a defender who was cut. McCray?

The media definitely isnt helping it in any way

No. There would be an empty slot in the history books for the 2009 SB, the league would never taint their record books in this way.

purposefully - in a purposeful manner; "he caught the motorcycles in the full glare of his headlights, braked and slipped purposefully out of the car"

This is true, and this story is not going away. There are going to be some very serious ramifications for the Saints. If any other teams are involved in this practice, they will catch some shite as well.

This is an embarrassment to the league. It also threatens the future business model the league has in mind (but that's another story in itself that there's no need to go into here). 75% of this Goodell bashing is coming from weenies who never put on a pair of shoulder pads or dumbasses who think they know shite from shinola because they made some AA all district team a few years ago.
