Anybody still watching this? I didn't see any thread on it for yesterday's episode, and not many people were posting in the old River thread.

I liked it last night..pretty solid episode. Good to finally see them finding some of the crew (2 so far). I was wondering where they were going with the whole "other boat" thing, and they managed to keep it in line with the whole "magic on the Amazon" thing. Sucks for the blonde chick that her dad was dead though. But the scene with the security dude and the other captain (when he shot him) was good shite...you knew as soon as he shot him that he wasn't dead (or even hurt at all).

This show has definitely kept my interest so far, and I'm interested to see the next 2 or 3 episodes (not sure how many are left, but I think someone said there are only 8 total) and what they have left to this story arch.

I think that was the best episode so far, although the end felt a little rushed. I remember looking at the clock when the son, the director, and the cameraman were headed to the ghost boat and thinking they were going to have a "to be continued" episode.

True, I thought the same thing. It said "3 minutes until sunrise" aat one point, and there was still like 10 minutes of show left.

It was definitely a bit rushed, but at the same time, I like that they do a pretty good job of wrapping up the episode's main story line each week instead of cliffhanging everything. I guess with such a short run of episodes, you can keep it relatively fresh each week.

Yeah, I'm still watching, and wanted to reply so there would be more than a couple of people who we know are watching it.
After investing time in it, I'd hate now to give it up, plus it would make me crazy to see how it turned out, plus it's not really a long run, so I won't have TOO much time in it if it sucks at the end.

I agree with all of the above posts about last night's episode. When they showed "10 minutes until sunrise," I thought, "There's NO WAY they're gonna make it to them!"

Not to mention how absolutely stupid it was for blonde chick and camera dude to go snooping around the other boat on their own without telling anyone shite too. I could ALMOST understand them doing it on regular terms (even though it would still be stupid). But with all the weird shite going on around them on the river, it's even more stupid to do it.

Also, was her dad chained TO something, or just handcuffed..? I thought I remembered him being chained to something, but that wouldn't make sense if he's the one they saw in the bottom window of the boat.

I thought it was a good episode. I just really want to know who the security guy keeps communicating with, although I'm sure I'll have to wait until the last episode.

And just to confirm, it was the Exodus that ran them aground, right?

I think so. They described it as a sort of "ghost ship," so it makes sense that it rammed them into the bank and then disappeared.

Not sure why they didn't just disappear once they kidnapped the necessary people to replace them though.

Maybe so, but the preview for next week looks to have some sort of army base or some shite in it. And he's military/ex-military, isn't he? So maybe there's some sort of tie-in with that.

It is about to be cancelled, so might as well find something better to do.

I stopped watching last week. Too much silly shite going on in that show.

I'm ok with that. This seems to be a story better told over one season than streched out. Finding the source and Emmett should easily answer all open questions, so plenty of time left for that.

I thought the same thing. In addition, they can be hurt by fire, but not by bullets at point blank range?

I try to keep these questions at bay in my mind and just watch it for what it is.

Yeah, that's definitely a prerequisite when watching something supernatural. There are definitely things about this show that are head-scratch-worthy, but overall I think they're doing a pretty solid job with it.

And I'm not bothered by it potentially being cancelled either...I started the show knowing that there were only 8 episodes and that I wouldn't have to invest too much time into it. And I can easily devote 42 minutes over the next few weeks to see how it wraps up.
