Academy nets are too flimsy, metal frame bends to much. Anywhere in B.R. have sturdy nets or do I try Gus's in Slidell, Alario Bros. in Westwego.
Will be ditch side fishing or maybe Sherburne south farm.
TIA

I wish I could remember where we bought ours from. I like them. Hand made from some dude, for some reason I wanna say it was a guy in chackbay but I really don't remember at all. We got a dozen of the regular ones and a dozen deepwater ones.

I bought a dozen at Gus' last Saturday and was very happy with the product. Only about $5 more per dozen and you could definitely tell the difference.

My nets are very old nets that I had rebuilt out of old trawl nets. Hell, the wires are well over 30 years old. Deep water nets do have there place if you are fishing a clean bottom. Remember, the net has to be on the bottom or the bugs will feed from under the net. Also, the good thing about deep water nets is that you can use them to catch crabs. I have both type of nets. Now I just need to get out there is get some bugs.
